Letter to the Editor - June 27: Drivers should ride buses

IN RESPONSE to Jenny Richard (CCA 24/6), the writer has made a very accurate observation by saying "more than half would fail...".

Generally speaking at least 50% of people who drive today are accidents. I drive buses for a living and you may have noticed before and after roundabouts that some of us will lane-share, which is legal. So when some of you attempt to drive up inside on the left, be very careful you don't regret your decision.

I wish I could take a bus load of drivers with poor habits along for the drive, specifically those who cannot use roundabouts and the correct use of their indicators while doing so. They would clearly see how the traffic is held up by their failure to understand this hazard.

Buses are notoriously slow to get going and the interpretation and indecision displayed by smaller vehicle driver is more like 90%.
