Drivers put pedal to metal in dash

THE Coffs Harbour and District Sporting Car Club held round one of the Coffs Harbour Motorworld Lap Dash series last Sunday in perfect conditions.

Twenty-two local entrants tested their driving skills around the Coffs Motorcycle Club flat track.

Local driver Travis Goff set a blistering pace in his Ford Laser TX3 turbo and proved to be the dominant force all day.

Cars stretching from a Toyota Corolla KE70 through to a Triumph TR7 competed around the track individually to try to be the fastest.

Series sponsor James Follett was thrilled with the number of entrants and cannot wait for round two in May.

Junior driver Dale Corbett took out his class in a Corolla while Travis Goff was the outright winner.

Dave Addison won a well-deserved outright second place in his Ford XR6 and Scott Hargans was 300ths of a second behind in third place.

The next event will be a Khanacross in April.
