Three times over limit before noon

COFFS Harbour police were lost for words when they stopped a driver for a registration check this week.

The 41-year-old man was subsequently breath tested and found to be more than three times over the limit with a .175 reading - at 10:30am!

On Monday morning, police saw the man driving a Mitsubishi Magna wagon in Coffs Harbour's Orlando Street.

They discovered an anomaly with the car's registration and stopped the vehicle in nearby Jordan Esplanade.

The unnamed male driver was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station and subsequently charged with a number of offences including high-range drink-driving, driving with a suspended licence and driving an unregistered vehicle.
