Driver crashes into Woopi employment agency

AN ELDERLY man has had a lucky escape after driving a car into the front window of Woolgoolga shop.

Shortly after 11am this morning, a man driving a Toyota Corolla mounted the kerb and drove into the front window of the Woolgoolga branch of the Tursa Employment and Training Office in Queen St.

Reports indicate the three people inside the office at the time were not injured, and no pedestrians were harmed.

It is understood an engineer was called to inspect the structural integrity of the building.

The front window and lower brickwork was severely damaged in the accident.

Police, Fire and Rescue and Ambulance Paramedics attended the scene and traffic in Queen St was disrupted for at least an hour.

The driver was treated for shock.
