Drive-by shooting at empty home

A NUMBER of shots were fired at a Coffs Harbour home.

About 1am  on Sunday, it's believed that a car drove in a southerly direction along Prince James Ave before the unknown occupant/s of that vehicle discharged several shots into the home.

As the premises were unoccupied no one was injured.

The vehicle was only described as being a silver or white late model utility, possibly a Holden Commodore.

It was seen leaving the area at speed in a southerly direction along Prince James Ave.

Police from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command were contacted and attended establishing a crime scene.

A short time later police located a resident of the property and returned to the home to conduct a search.

Police have conducted a canvas of nearby homes but are appealing for anyone who saw or heard suspicious activity in the area overnight to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page. Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
