Vote for me: Sally Townley–Greens

DO YOU believe elected public officials should act honestly and transparently?

Do you believe the role of the council is to steer the growth and development in a direction which balances urban growth with protection of resources such as our water catchments and coastline?

Do you dare to hope the area's natural beauty can be maintained and enhanced for generations to come?

If your answer is yes, then I invite you to vote for the Greens team next month.

The Greens believe the council should operate in a context of the highest professional standards, including scrupulous honesty and accountability in decision-making. We believe public money should be spent carefully and for clear demonstrated public benefit.

The Greens will work to develop an effective and affordable public transport system including a cycleway linking the villages of the northern beaches. We will always look for public transport options when considering new housing areas.

As the mayor I would be committed to protecting our natural environment. This includes avoiding irresponsible development on fragile or unsuitable areas. Protection of our water catchments is an utmost priority and I plan to build upon the current council's ban on coal-seam gas mining.

The Greens recognise nature-based tourism is a vital revenue stream. We will endeavour to enhance this industry and also work to highlight Coffs Harbour's status as home of the largest remaining coastal koala population.

I will work to further develop Coffs Harbour as a regional educational and cultural hub and also ensure the council has a role in development of local businesses and strengthening employment opportunities.

As mayor, I will strive to represent all of our community, particularly regions and even cultural pursuits that have previously been a low priority for the council.
