Dozer to the rescue

A BULLDOZER was brought in to retrieve two police vehicles and another car which had become stuck on a bush track south-west of Bellingen.

According to the SES, which was in charge of the retrieval operation, a 4WD police vehicle from Dorrigo entered the Gladstone State Forest late on Wednesday after a couple with a young child called to say their car was bogged in mud.

Police say when that 4WD became bogged another was dispatched to pull it out as well as the Bellingen SES.

That operation wasn’t successful and as darkness fell the police officers couldn’t turn around or reverse their vehicle because of the treacherous conditions.

A third police vehicle carried the entourage back to Bellingen and the SES returned on Thursday to retrieve all three vehicles.
