Down for 'The Count'
AFTER what some would refer to as his controversial win in the sold-out UFC held in Sydney last weekend, Michael Bisping is set to visit Coffs Harbour for one night only.
Heading to local martial arts school Diamond Martial Arts (DMA), Bisping will be conducting a Mixed Martial Arts seminar for a limited number of students.
As Bisping will only be visiting six schools while in Australia, Master Phil Monaghan admitted that he is honoured DMA was selected to be one of the lucky few.
“You would expect that a celebrity athlete of that calibre would be limiting his visits to just capital cities,” he said.
“Bisping’s agent though let the cat out of the bag though that DMA came highly recommended as the local martial arts centre had built a reputation for hosting a lot of international martial artists as well as being very active in the MMA scene.
“I was pretty chuffed about that.”
In 2006, Bisping became the first British competitor and subsequent winner of the reality series The Ultimate Fighter series three. Since then he has defeated impressive names in the UFC, has returned to The Ultimate Fighter series as a coach in season nine and holds a record of 23 wins and three losses.
‘The Count’ has also been voted Fighter of the Year as well as the Coolest Man in the UK.
Bisping will be rolling into Coffs Harbour on Tuesday to conduct his seminar.
Tickets are limited to 40 participants and DMA still has a few remaining.
