Dorrigo Show to rival all others

THIS weekend’s Dorrigo Show is shaping up as one of the best in years.

As well as all the usual favourites for the young, the not so young and the men and women of the land, there are a host of new events to make the trip up the mountain today and tomorrow more than worthwhile.

Cattle dog trials will share the centre ring today with a full complement of led and ridden horse events including special classes for Australian brumbies. Black will be the dominant colour in the beef cattle arena with an Angus feature show expected to draw entries from across the New England tableland.

As a preview to what’s in store for next year’s centenary show, harness and hunting events will also feature in the main ring alongside the gentle giants of the farm, draught horses.

The pavilion will again be jam-packed with local produce and arts and crafts and tonight there will be a fireworks spectacular.

The sparks will also fly tomorrow afternoon from 3pm when the final round of the 2010 ABCRA bull ride is held.
