Dorrigo determined to chase points

WITH the competition for places in Coffs Harbour cricket’s final four so tight, additional points earned through an outright victory are vital and Dorrigo know it.

The team from the plateau have already wrapped up first innings points against Coffs Tigers and this afternoon will be chasing outright points, which could catapult them to the top of the table.

Dorrigo hold a lead of 46 runs over the Tigers and have already claimed a second innings scalp to put them in the box seat.

The match that looks like it could go either way is at Richardson Park where Sawtell face a tricky run chase against Park Beach Bowling Club Colts.

The reigning premiers require only 89 runs for victory but the challenge in getting the runs is the fact that the Colts have already picked up five wickets. Perhaps Sawtell can take some of the Twenty20 premiership-winning form into their run chase.

A strong batting display by Diggers Ex-Services last week has put them in a good position against Nana Glen at Fitzroy Oval.

Any score over 200 is difficult to chase down and Diggers will feel confident that their total of 226 is good enough.

STATE OF PLAY

Diggers 226 v Nana Glen 2/24

Dorrigo 9/148 v Coffs Tigers 95 and 1/7

Sawtell 5/41 v PBBC Colts 129
