Don't miss out on upcoming Bike Week events

OIL up those bikes, Bike Week is almost here and tomorrow is the last chance to express your interest.

Two upcoming events will be held in Mackay's City Centre next month as part of Bicycle Queensland's Bike Week in conjunction with Mackay Regional Council.

Everyone is encouraged to get involved.

The Superhero Ride is on May 15 and children are encouraged to dress up as their favourite superhero on the ride through Bluewater Trail.

Our real life superheros, the local police, will join in on the ride.

There will also be a Ride to Work Breakfast on May 18.

Tomorrow is the last day for expressions of interest for:

  • Prizes for the best dressed (1x girl prize, 1x boy prize)
  • A scavenger hunt prize
  • A superhero ride
  • Bluewater Quay Stalls- food/coffee vendors, expo stalls etc.

Businesses donating prizes will advertised in the Cyclefest flyer to be distributed leading up to the events as well as on social media.

Businesses that promote a healthy active lifestyle or have a bike-friendly space are wanted to advertise as part of Mackay City Centre's "Active in the City" campaign.

Email your interest to citycentre@mackay.gov.au by COB tomorrow or contact Samantha on 4961 9641.
