Don't be a road toll statistic this Christmas
WHICH part of "you risk dying” don't people understand when it comes to safeguarding their own safety?
Perhaps they think it's the government, police or the lifesavers' responsibility to keep us alive no matter how stupidly we behave.
Is there a person alive in all of Australia who does not understand they should swim between the flags or risk drowning?
Who doesn't realise by now that drink/drug-driving will cost you a hefty fine, loss of licence and perhaps a crippling injury or your life?
Which drivers still do not realise that speeding kills people every day?
Watch the Christmas/new year road toll climb daily.
Are there any party-goers who still cannot comprehend that drinking to excess may well bring about death or severe brain damage from a coward punch?
As a species I fear the human race is doomed because we simply cannot help ourselves.
Death isn't cool, it's not glamorous, it's not dramatic as we see in the movies. It can be painful and terrifying - and you condemn your family to a lifetime of suffering.
While your mates are enjoying life, building a career, seeing the world and raising a family - you are simply dead.
My plea, just don't be stupid, make your life count for something more worthwhile than a road toll statistic or a small story in the local newspaper.
