Charge over domestic dispute

POLICE have charged a Coffs Harbour man over a domestic dispute which turned nasty at Park Beach.

Officers converged on an Ocean Parade apartment block at 2.30am on Monday following reports of a fight between a man, 40, and a woman, 46.

Police sealed off the front of the unit block while specialist officers were dispatched to begin their inquiries.

Police revealed yesterday the incident happened on a balcony and the woman, who is the man’s partner, suffered back injuries.

The Coffs Harbour woman was taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus for treatment.

The man was charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and was conditionally bailed to appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court on June 15.

Police are continuing their investigations into the alleged assault and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
