THE Coffs Harbour business sector's night of nights saw innovative medical company Doctor on Duty claim the Coffs Harbour Chamber of Commerce's prestigious Business of the Year award.

The operation, which began 14 months ago providing patients with after hours medical services from the comfort of their own homes won the top gong while claiming two other Sunny's awards for best New Business and the best Marketing and Advertising Campaign.

Chamber of Commerce executive officer Garth Shipperlee said a high calibre of nominations were fielded for the 2015 Sunny's Business Awards.

"We had a significant increase in new businesses entering the awards and an increase in the amount of entries received overall," Mr Shipperlee said.
