Disability scheme rollout to begin on North Coast in 2017

THE National Disability Insurance Scheme will be rolled out to the North Coast region from July 1, 2017.

Parliamentary secretary for the North Coast, Chris Gulaptis, said this week's announcement was a result of the hard work undertaken since July 2013 when the first NDIS trial site was established in the Hunter.

"The NSW Government is committed to breaking down barriers for people with disability," he said.

"The NDIS is a once-in-a-generation social reform that will give choice and control to people with disability.

"This announcement brings certainty to people with disability, their families and carers."

Page MP Kevin Hogan said the NDIS rollout would be carefully managed to deliver a scheme that stood the test of time.

"This is great news for people with disability and their families across our community, and underscores our commitment to deliver the NDIS in full," he said.
