Dine in for a good cause

THAI restaurant, Gai Thai, in Coffs Harbour is hosting a White Ribbon Foundation fundraiser tonight to celebrate it's fifth birthday.

Restuarant owner, Gai Som-Asa said combining her restaurant's anniversary with a White Ribbon Fundraiser, a not-for-profit that aims to stop violence against women, came about through a conversation with her friend Donna Aldernan who asked if she could run a fundraiser on the night.

After experiencing the negative effects of domestic violence in the lives of her friends, Gai thought the fundraiser would be a fitting to raise awareness and funds to for a cause she cares so strongly about.

"If we can raise alot of money and help a lot of people who need it most that would be great...If we have more knowledge about it then we can help others in similar situations," Gai said.

The two course meal will be accompanied by live entertainment by local musical talent, Secret Squirrel, who will bring down the house with covers of popular hits.

Gai said she is highly anticipating Friday night will be a great night for all, combining good food and entertainment for a good cause.

"I'd like people to have a lot of fun and celebrate my success for five years. I want everybody to enjoy my food."

Tickets are $40 per person, to purchase your ticket please contact Donna Alderman on 0413 790 655.
