Diesel stolen from tractors near Gayndah

GAYNDAH police are appealing for information and warning property owners to stay vigilant after diesel was stolen from machinery on multiple occasions.

Property owners outside Gayndah have been informing police of diesel being stolen from tractors and heavy machinery.

"Ideally you want to keep your vehicles as secure as possible,” Gayndah Police Senior Constable Brendan Florance said.

"It's a difficult one because if you can't keep your machinery secure then you want it to be in an area where the public can easily see it, but you also don't want to give perpetrators an opportunity.

"It's difficult to deter people from stealing diesel from exposed fuel tanks because they often can't be locked.”

To provide police with any information contact Gayndah Police Station on 4161 1211.
