Devils take win from Pink Ladies

Netball: Reigning champions, the Pink Ladies, put up a tough fight to try to retain their title but in the end the Devils proved too strong, taking home the season trophy 31-24.

With the Pink Ladies winning two games against the Devils in the lead-up to the grand final, they were expected to take the win, but the Devils came out strongly, quickly taking the lead, scoring six points in the first quarter.

Devils captain Lisa Carnell said the girls played extremely well on the night.

"Everyone was moving really well as a team,” Carnell said.

"Sometimes we may do some silly things but that night we were working well.”

Carnell said the team played so well together she couldn't pick a standout player, with the shooters on target for every goal and the defence too strong for the Pink Ladies to break through.

Both teams showed great sportsmanship in what was a good entertaining game.

The teams will now enjoy a two-week break before the next season begins.
