Detectives probe Bongaree house blaze

DETECTIVES are investigating a fire which caused extensive damage to a home in Bongaree last night.

Police were called to the house on First Avenue around 6.15pm after reports of an explosion at the address near Bribie Island.

When crews arrived on scene, the house was fully alight and had sustained significant damage.

There was no one inside the residence at the time and no one was injured as a result of the fire.

At this stage, detectives are treating the fire as suspicious and a crime scene has been established.
