Editorial - Saturday, July 25: Delivering good news on events

FOOTBALL on the front, rally and powerboats on page 2 and cycling in close pursuit, no we haven't reversed the newspaper formula here at The Advocate, but reflected Coffs Harbour's strength in tourism in coming weeks.

If the saying 'All is well when there's sport on the front page' is correct', we pass the bar today, but actually more space is dedicated inside to festivals, arts, entertainment and community events.

That's what The Advocate stands for getting the word out, generating ticket sales, getting patrons to events and making sure your events gain exposure.

Readers tell us they want their Saturday community paper to focus as much on important upcoming dates, as daily news, property guides and lifestyle pages.

The organisers and volunteers who make these events happen work hard and we're here to support.

As the events calendar has grown so too has The Advocate's reach. We deliver 62,000 newspapers free to homes and businesses each week - that's 2 million news pages of copy.

After 108 years, Coffs enjoys the newspaper model for the future. We welcome your feedback where we can improve? Email us editor@coffscoastadvocate.com.au.
