Delays due to crash investigation

POLICE have partially closed the Pacific Highway, north of Coffs Harbour this afternoon to complete investigations into a fatal crash, which happened near Emerald Beach.

The accident claimed the life of a 10-month-old baby after two vehicles crashed head-on, 250 metres south of Smiths Rd in May.

To enable police to collect further evidence for the upcoming Coronial Inquiry, one lane of the highway has been closed.

The NSW Transport Management Centre advises traffic will be alternated around the site for around 30 minutes.

It is expected the highway should be fully reopened just after 2pm.

"Only one lane of the highway is open to traffic through the area, with northbound and southbound motorists taking turns using this lane under stop/slow arrangements," the transport management centre advised.

"Motorists are advised to expect delays, allow extra travel time and follow the directions of traffic controllers."
