Dee bunkers down for art

BRIGHT-EYED monsters, little birds and sultry tragic comics flow from Dee Texidor’s pen as she explores line, shape and motif.

The work of the Dorrigo-based artist, who has more than 20 years’ experience in creative graphic design projects, is on show in the foyer of the Bunker Cartoon Gallery foyer until January 8, 2011, following a preview opening last night.

Dee is also responsible for the new-look kookaburra which features in the gallery’s new logo.

Many of Dee’s works are available for sale, with gift ideas including greeting cards; the children’s books Ten Yellow Bananas and Bubble Gum Poems, written by Helen Ross and illustrated by Dee; unframed digital prints; original paintings on canvas, and; original mixed media monsters and portraits.

The Bunker Cartoon Gallery also has the Marnie Yeates Trophy for Nature Photography exhibition showing until November 27.

The gallery is open from 10am to 4pm from Monday to Saturday. Admission: $2 adult and $1 per child.
