Dedicated volunteers continue their work

SUCCESSFUL programs, friendship afternoon teas and tireless work from volunteers are all contributors to a great year for the Woolgoolga Red Cross Branch.

At their recent AGM, most of the over 130 members of the Woolgoolga Red Cross Branch attended and recorded a time of commitment to helping others.

Programs run through the branch are the refugee homework group Skyrockets, the Hands On Team volunteering at the local retirement village and the friendship afternoon tea organisers who bring an afternoon of entertainment, music and fun to the community each month.

Retiring treasurer, Helen Michener was recognised and thanked for her 10-years of commitment and president David Dodsworth and secretary Judy Jackson were reappointed for another year.

Members have worked tirelessly as volunteers, through fund raising and have thank the local community for their continuing support for the humanitarian work of the organisation.

Local MP Kevin Hogan and Mayor Cr Denise

Knight attended the occasion and spoke of the contribution volunteers make in the area.

New members are always welcome and inquiries can be made to 6654 0904.
