Daryl considers Cuban Salsa to help fundraise
DARYL Parmenter will be throwing off his inhibitions when he dances the Cuban Salsa in the Cancer Council Celebrity Dance for Cancer.
The employee of bcu said his involvement in the spectacular fundraiser was all about family.
"My mother-in-law is a recent survivor of breast cancer and an uncle is currently fighting his battle, while on my wife's side, family members have been lost to cancer," Mr Parmenter said.
"So if in some way I can help raise funds for such a wonderful cause, then I'm more than happy to be put out of my comfort zone," he said.
"Also being father of two children, I want to make my kids proud of me for being out there and having a go."
As part of his fundraising, Mr Parmenter has organised a Cuban Salsa night at Miss Cha Cha's Mexican at the Coffs Hotel this Saturday from 6pm.
The $20 entrance fee includes a free margarita or beer plus delicious finger food. There will be prizes and giveaways.
Finding their groove on the night will be Christina Monneron with her Kulturithmik crew.
Christina and Chrisselle from Kulturithmik have donated their time to teach Mr Parmenter to trip the light fantastic and on Saturday night they will demonstrate the seductive, teasing moves of the Cuban Salsa.
"I absolutely love learning to dance," Mr Parmenter said.
"I have met some fantastic people, made some new friends and learnt some new moves," he said.
"Actually, I don't think you would call it dancing, because my daughter has asked me to stop doing it on numerous occasions."
