Jacqui dances to impress

JACQUI Jarratt Barnett is hoping to dance her way into the judges' hearts at the Cancer Council's Stars of Coffs Coast Dance for Cancer gala fundraising event on November 14 at C.ex Coffs.

Jacqui is no stranger to the stars event with her husband Glen winning the event last year.

"Cancer Council's Stars of Coffs Coast Dance for Cancer is something I have looked forward to doing for many years," Jacqui said.

"We're having a great time practising our dance and Glen is putting his two cents worth in as well"

Jacqui and Glen have been part owners of Coffs Coast Health Club for the past six years.

Jacqui, who has always been keen to help women learn to love themselves and walk confidently in the world, has worked in the fitness industry for more than 25 years.

Kim Mackinnon of the Julie Ross Dance Studio who successfully choreographed Glen, has returned to the event to teach Jacqui a fast-paced, jazz variety piece that is guaranteed to entertain and hopefully secure another win.

"It's not just about the dancing", stated Jacqui, "to be able to raise money for such a meaningful cause is wonderful. I think everyone really wants to do their bit to make a positive difference in this world."

Trivia nights are a part of Jacqui and Glen's repertoire.

One of the 'Twists' being the talented school students' live band playing a tune with the audience guessing the song title.

Trivia with a Twist is on Friday, August 28 at 6.30pm at the Cavanbah Centre, Harbour Dr, Coffs Harbour.

Tickets can be purchased at the Coffs Coast Health Club reception or via Sticky Tickets at stks.be/trivia-with-a-twist.

The $20 entry fee includes lucky door prizes, a prize for the winning trivia table and a delicious light supper.

Gather a group of your friends to get their thinking caps on for a fun night while helping Jacqui reach her goal of $7000, or you can donate to Jacqui at everydayhero.com.au/event/starsofcoffscoast2015.
