Dancing back to the '60s
ALL roads will lead to Bonville Hall on March 19 for the Bonville Old Time Dance and Get Together.
This will be an old-fashioned family dance night and gathering for people who remember the Bonville dances of the 1960s.
Organiser Bronwynn Lusted said the band, Simply Us, would provide the music for dances like the waltz, progressive barn dance, Canadian three-step, Pride of Erin, Gypsy tap and foxtrot, while there would also be a section with tables and chairs for non-dancers to talk and watch.
“Please bring along any old photos or memorabilia,” Mrs Lusted said.
“Women please bring a plate with sandwiches, pikelets, scones, biscuits, cakes or lamingtons.”
Mrs Lusted said many people still had fond memories of the dance nights at the Bonville Hall in the 1950s and 1960s.
She said the dance evenings ended in the 1970s.
There will be lucky door prizes and coffee, tea and cold drinks will be provided; BYO alcohol.
The Old Time dance will be held at the Bonville Hall from 7pm-11pm on March 19 with supper about 9pm.
Tickets are $20 adult, $5 concession (pensioners, school age children, unemployed) from Bonville Post Office or contact organiser Bronwynn Lusted on 6649 4466 mobile 0427 690 971 or email bronwynn@conkerberry. com.au
