Dance ends in brawl

A FIGHT on the dancefloor erupted into a brawl at the Coffs Hotel on Sunday night.

The wild scenes broke out at 10.30pm and when police arrived, they counted as many as 100 people spilling onto the footpath, some of them still swinging punches.

Police helped security guards to restore order. At the height of the melee, a glass panel fronting West High Street was smashed.

Police managed to disperse the crowd over a 90-minute period.

Outside the hotel at 11.45pm, Target Action Group police arrested an aggressive Matraville man, 19, after he had been asked to move away from the hotel area.
