COFFS Harbour resident Damian Woods has been endorsed as Labor candidate for the Division of Cowper for the upcoming Federal election.

The pre-selection of Mr Wood, an emergency supervisor with Essential Energy, was announced at today's annual general meeting of the Coffs Harbour branch of Country Labor.

Branch president David Quinn said an official launch of the election campaign will be held after the Easter break.

"Duty Senator for Cowper, Jenny McAllister, will come to Coffs Harbour to host the launch of Damian's candidature," Mr Quinn said.

"Following the function Senator McAllister will tour the electorate with meetings in Macksville and Port Macquarie."
