DALY Cherry-Evans has been axed from the Queensland side for the July 8 Origin decider.

Injuries have dictated much of the make-up of the Maroons' game III line up and Cherry-Evans is the ultimate casualty of Cooper Cronk's recovery from knee surgery.

While he didn't make the Melbourne Storm side to play the Bulldogs on Monday night,  Cronk (knee) has been cleared for the decider, to resume his pairing with Johnathan Thurston.

North Queensland Cowboys utility Michael Morgan was included on the bench in place of Cherry-Evans, who was disappointing as the starting partner with Thurston in Game II.

Morgan partners with Thurston in club football, and has forged a successful pairing with him for North Queensland this season.
