Dad ‘shed a tear’ as Amber wowed The Voice

IT WAS one fine moment for a proud Coffs Harbour father, as his daughter Amber Nichols swung the judges chairs on The Voice.

Park Beach motelier Alan Mitchell said Amber's performance on national television this week was a special moment for the family and Amber's proud little brother Ethan.

"Yeah the old man had a tear in the eye, for sure," Alan said.

"I know how good a performer Amber is she has been singing her whole life, she has been performing for the last 10 years in Canberra, but to have all four of the judges turn their chairs ... well I was just amazed. I couldn't believe it.

Alan was beaming all week as Amber, 32, gave a guest appearances on the Today Show.

The great news is that Amber, her husband Pete and son Charlie are expecting another little bundle of joy soon.

It was also a special moment for Amber's little brother Ethan, 18, who attends special needs classes at Toormina School.

"Ethan reckons Amber has got what it takes to go all the way, we'll just see how the next few weeks go," Alan said.
