Cupcake heroes help animals in need
COFFS Coast animal lovers have their aprons positioned and whisks poised ready to raise money for the RSPCA on Cupcake Day.
On Monday August 15, registered cupcake cooks will make batches of goodies to support the RSPCA in their rescue and care of the furry and feathered.
Tegan Keft has mobilised the crew at the Coffs Coast Health Club and plans to sell chocolate and raspberry, pear and walnut treats to patrons throughout next week.
“The work that the RSPCA does to prevent cruelty to animals is invaluable,” Ms Keft said.
“As an animal lover I jumped on the chance to support this cause and my goal is to raise at least $500.”
The club’s owner Duncan Marchant applauded Ms Keft’s drive and said no animal should be in distress.
As part of the RSPCA’s Choose Wisely initiative, cooks are encouraged to steer clear of caged eggs when creating their cupcakes in a bid to support humane farming and get hens out of cages.
You can show your support by purchasing a $2 cupcake at the club’s reception at Toormina’s Hogbin Drive next week or donating online at http://www.fundraise.rspcacupcakeday.com.au/tegan_keft.
