Warrant Arrest leads to Property Offences

COFFS Clarence detectives have arrested a man for an outstanding arrest warrant relating to a domestic violence incident in 2014.

Upon his arrest, detective's located stolen property from a number of vehicles in the Coffs Harbour Jetty area on Monday, August 17.

The man was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property and the outstanding warrant.

Editor's note: On Wednesday, the man pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property and was sentenced to an 18 month good behaviour bond. He was bail refused in relation to the domestic violence arrest warrant and will appear before the Kempsey Local Court on Monday.

Woolgoolga Graffiti

POLICE are continuing investigations into a spate of graffiti and property theft related matters in Woolgoolga.

On Tuesday, August 18, a 15-year-old Moonee Beach boy and a 14-year-old Sandy beach boy allegedly found discarded paint cans at a building site before placing graffiti tags on and around a shopping plaza.

It is estimated the damage caused by the graffiti will run into the thousands of dollars.

The two boys have been charged with offences under the Graffiti Control Act. Police are also continuing investigations into property offences which allegedly occurred around the same time.

These include break and enter matters and thefts from vehicles. Victims of these types of crimes are asked to report these to the Police Assistance Line on 131 444.

 

Crystal Meth Arrest

A COFFS Harbour man, 28, has been arrested and charged for the alleged possession of crystal methylamphetamine, or "ice".

1.1grams of the drug with a potential street value of $2750 was seized by police after a car was stopped on Prince St at around 2.30pm on Tuesday, August 18.

When one of the occupants tried to walk away, officers questioned him and subsequently located the drugs.

Police will allege the man turned violent and tried to run away before he was wrestled to the ground and handcuffed. A search located a second bag of drugs.

The man will appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court on October 1 charged with possess prohibited drug and resist arrest.

 

Perfume Shoplifted

OFFICERS attached to Coffs Clarence Target Action Group stopped and spoke with a 31-year-old Coffs Harbour woman, and her partner, a 32-year-old Coffs Harbour man in Harbour Dr at about 2.15pm on Monday, August 17.

During a search, police found a number of unopened bottles of perfume in their bags - believed to have been recently stolen from a local pharmacy.

Investigations are continuing into the circumstances of the couple coming into possession of the perfume.

 

Car Park Search

A URUNGA woman will appear in court next month after police allegedly located cannabis and a set of knuckle dusters in her possession.

At about 12.20am on Monday, August 17, police were conducting a patrol of a shopping complex car park in Toormina and observed a number of cars and people acting suspiciously.

Police spoke to the 32-year-old woman and following inquiries, conducted a search of the vehicle.

The woman was charged with possess prohibited drug and possess a prohibited weapon without a permit. She will appear in the Coffs Harbour Local Court on September 7.
