Man and woman injured in midnight motel assault
UPDATE 5PM: INVESTIGATIONS are continuing after a man and woman were assaulted in a Sarina motel.
Forensic officers have spent Saturday morning at Tandara Hotel Motel on Broad St as part of ongoing investigations into the incident reported just before midnight Friday.
Initial investigations suggest a man and woman were arguing inside, when two men entered their room and assaulted a 23-year-old man and a woman who tried to intervene.
Police said the two men fled the hotel in a white car.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said police have reopened the crime scene after investigating the incident this morning.
He said police spoke with witnesses, including hotel staff, as part of the investigation.
He said no arrests had been made.
EARLIER 12.55PM: POLICE have declared a motel room a crime scene after a man and woman were injured in a midnight assault.

Police said a man and woman inside one of the rooms at the Tandara Hotel Motel on Broad St in Sarina were heard arguing when two men arrived.
Initial investigations suggest the two men entered the room and assaulted a 23-year-old man inside.
A spokesman said the woman, 21, intervened and stopped the altercation before the two men fled the area.
They were seen leaving in a white car. Police are yet to locate them.
The 23-year-old man suffered minor injuries and paramedics transported him to hospital.
The police spokesman said no weapons appeared to have been involved in the incident.
A crime scene was declared and forensic officers with the Scenes of Crime unit were called to the motel earlier Saturday morning.
Investigations into the incident and the identity of the two men who fled are continuing.
