Crime scene at Boambee East home destroyed by fire

A CRIME scene has been established in Boambee East where a home was gutted by fire on Friday evening.

Around 7pm, fire authorities answered a call to Dunlop Drive where a four bedroom dwelling was well alight.

Five fire units and three Rural Fire Service crews joined police and ambulance officers at the address.

The blaze was brought under control within an hour but not before extensive damage was caused to almost all the interior of the building.

The residents were not at home when the fire broke out but arrived later after being alerted to the situation by friends.

There were no injuries and no cause has yet been determined.

Forensic police and fire specialists are spending Saturday at the location conducting a thorough investigation.
