Cricket stars step up to crease

FORMER Australian one-day cricketer Anthony Stuart and current women's star Lisa Sthalekar are the headline speakers at a cricket coaching course to be held in Coffs Harbour in July.

Stuart, who famously took a hat trick against Pakistan at the MCG, is currently the head coach for the NSW SpeedBlitz Blues and he will be available to cricket coaches of all levels from Forster to the Tweed when he joins Sthalekar, State talent manager David Freedman, NSW youth talent manager Michael Maclennan and NSW Lend Lease Breakers coach Neil McDonald at the North Coast Coaches Conference.

In a first for Coach Education across country NSW, the entire Cricket NSW State Coaching panel will be delivering a tailored and informative two day course to assist all coaches.

This provides a unique opportunity for local coaches to interact with the States top coaches and experts in their field including coaching and strength and conditioning.

Cricket NSW coach education and development manager David Drew encourages cricket coaches of all levels to attend and gain invaluable knowledge to pass onto their respective players, clubs and schools.

"The quality of coaches on hand have either played Test or First Class cricket and are highly skilled in modern day coaching trends and technology," Drew said.

"It is our aim to try and put all coaches on the same page, wherever you are from.

"The chance to witness latest drills, skills and technology is a rare chance indeed."

For more information on the conference interested coaches should contact North Coast development manager Dave Szumowski on 0425 297 716.

Bookings are essential by emailing your expression of interest to david.szumowski@cricketnsw.com.au

The conference is being held at the Novotel Pacific Bay Resort on Saturday, July 14 from 1.00pm to 6.30pm and at the Coffs Harbour Indoor Cricket Centre on Sunday, July 15 from 8.30am to 1.45pm.
