COWPER DECIDES: Federal Election 2019
UPDATE 8.45PM: Pat Conaghan's stranglehold on the electorate continues to grow, with The Nationals candidate currently sitting on 13,233 votes or 45.86 per cent.
Independent Rob Oakeshott has 6719 votes, or 23.29 per cent of first preference. Interestingly there has been nearly a 2 per cent swing against Mr Oakeshott when compared with his 2016 result.
UPDATE 7.30PM: 12 per cent of the vote has now been counted and it's Pat Conaghan who's still in control with 6540 votes.
He's clear of Rob Oakeshott (3166) and Andrew Woodward (1819) comfortably at this stage.
UPDATE 7PM: Pat Conaghan has made a strong start in polling, currently sitting on 1860 votes.
Rob Oakeshott is back on 862 votes, with Labor's Andrew Woodward on 483.
EARLIER: POLLING booths across the eastern states are about to close and counting will begin very shortly.
It's been a massive day for the local candidates, with favourites Pat Conaghan, Rob Oakeshott and Andrew Woodward all clocking up hundreds of kilometres visiting booths.
