Countdown on for Australian Surf Festival in Coffs Harbour
ENTRIES are still open for several divisions at the upcoming Australian Surf Festival in Coffs Harbour.
The region is gearing up for the largest gathering of surfers in the country when the event is held over August 1-18.
More than 500 surfers from around Australia will contest the two-week surfing festival.
National titles will be decided in open surf masters, single fin, longboard and logger divisions.
This year will also see the introduction of the inaugural Wahu Australian Bodyboard titles.
The logger division was introduced at last year's titles and was one of the most popular events and entries are still being taken in the junior, open and over-40 men's logger divisions.
Another of the traditional events also still taking entries is the single fin division, open to all, and competitors do not have to qualify through their respective state events.
Coffs Harbour is home to a number of great beach break options that work in a variety of wind and swell conditions.
The main base for the event will be Park Beach but the event is fully mobile and options include Macauleys, Diggers, Jetty, Gallows, Arrawarra, Mulloway, Woolgoolga, Emerald Beach or Sapphire Beaches.
The official opening ceremony will be held on August 1 at 4pm at the Park Beach Hoey Moey.
