Councillors approve more industrially zoned Isles Dr land

REZONING of part of the Isles Drive Industrial Estate from B5 Business Development to IN1 General Industrial was approved by Coffs Harbour councillors at their meeting last night.

The councillors endorsed the planning proposal to review the zoning of part of the estate to provide more industrially zoned land.

The planning proposal went to NSW Planning and Environment last year and went on public exhibition in January and February, where it attracted three objections and one submission in support.

In answer to questions from Cr Sally Townley, the director of sustainable communities Chris Chapman said businesses like warehouses and shops on sites now zoned for industrial use could continue to operate and would enjoy existing rights, even if the business was sold, unless the business ceased to operate for more than 12 months.
