Shortly before 8.30am on Wednesday, two boys were riding their bikes to school along Matthews Pde, near the intersection of Saltwater Crest, when they were approached by two people in a vehicle.

The vehicle has been described as being a light-coloured Holden Commodore.

Officers from Coffs Clarence Local Area Command have been told the vehicle pulled off the roadway into a grassed area behind the boys, where a female passenger got out of the car and attempted to speak with them.

The boys continued riding along Matthews Pde and the vehicle left the area.

The incident was later reported to a school teacher, who contacted police.

Coffs Clarence police are continuing their inquiries into the incident. Anyone who knows the woman's identity, or has any information that could assist police, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
