Corbould Park set for another top race

HORSE RACING: Another lucrative meet is set to grace the turf at Corbould Park on Sunday and Stuart Kendrick will be among those hopeful of earning top honours.

Kendrick is set to have two gallopers in the $125,000 Kirin Daybreak Lover (1200M) race at Sunshine Coast Turf Club.

It follows on from the club hosting its richest race day in history last week in which Kendrick's Tarzan crossed first in a listed handicap race.

Kendrick was hopeful So Invincible and Italia Bella could keep the good times rolling on Sunday.

"She (Italia Bella) is a really smart filly,” he said.

"She's won the last two on the track here and she was going to go down to Sydney for the carnival but had a little injury setback.

"She bumped her leg so she had to have a few weeks in the paddock but she is resuming in that race there this weekend and we have got pretty high expectations of her.”

Coast Jockey Luke Tarrant has been in the saddle for her previous two wins and will again be aboard for her return as she jumps from barrier 13.

"You need a few things to go your way from that gate, especially in such a strong field but she's got a touch of class about her so I think with a little bit of even luck she will be right there,” Kendrick said.

Kendrick said So Invincible was also in fine form, but if the track remained wet would likely be pulled from the race.
