Cops swoop on duo after driver robbed

TWO men have been arrested and charged over the robbery of a motorist at Toormina this week.

Police allege a man, 21, was seated inside his vehicle in Wybalena Cres on Wednesday about 5.45pm when the two men confronted him and stole his car keys and other property.

It is alleged the men used a brick to damage the man's vehicle during the incident.

Coffs Clarence crime manager Detective Inspector Cameron Lindsay said a Toormina man, 23, was arrested that night and charged with robbery in company.

"Based on police inquiries into the incident, a second man, a 22-year-old Toormina man, was arrested on Thursday and charged with robbery in company," Detective Inspector Lindsay said.

The younger man was refused bail and appeared in the Coffs Harbour Local Court on Thursday.

The second man was given conditional bail to appear before a magistrate on Monday, June 3.
