A MAN has pulled down his pants in front of police and shocked shoppers at Park Beach Plaza.

Officers were interviewing people at the bus stop outside the main entrance at 8.50am on Wednesday as part of an unrelated investigation when the 44-year-old approached them.

He insisted that police search him because they had 'nothing better to do', police allege.

They told him to leave but he stood between the officers and other people and pulled down his boardshorts to his knees, exposing himself.

He was arrested and detained and subsequently fined.
