Community support for young family

THE Coffs Coast community has rallied to support a local young mum with a charity auction next Saturday night at the Coffs Harbour Yacht Club.

Toni Hopkins had radical brain surgery in April to remove a tumour and a cyst.

Toni and her fiancé Brendan Killick had recently bought a new house which they had moved to with their toddler and Toni's two older children. Not long after Toni was told she had a mass on the brain.

Toni is now recovering after her second operation but the family has been left with a large financial burden as they had to take on a personal loan to cover the costs of the surgery.

Toni's family and friends have invited the whole community to an enormous charity auction to help the young family.

Some of the items up for auction on the night include a 6ft Webber surfboard; signed football jerseys from Parramatta Eels, Wests Tigers, Gold Coast Titans and, Melbourne Storm; signed boxing gloves from Kostya Tszyu; outdoor garden shed worth more than $700; and resort accommodation packages.

This is just a small selection of the enormous amount of items up for auction. The night starts at 6pm and the auction begins at 8pm.
