Community in mourning for Malcolm

THE close-knit Thora community is in mourning following the death of local man Malcolm Ellacott.

The 42-year-old had left his home at 4.30pm last Thursday for a trail bike ride.

However, his family raised the alarm when he had not returned by early evening.

About 8.30pm a neighbour found the man’s KTM motorbike on its side on Thora’s Hospital Range Road and the body of Mr Ellacott was discovered three metres down a nearby embankment.

Police, paramedics and SES crews were called to the scene and the area was sealed off for a detailed examination to determine the cause of the crash.
