Community groups receive State Government grants

FOUR Fraser Coast community groups will share in $42,000 as part of the latest round of State Government grants.

The Bauple and District Recreation Ground Association will receive the largest slice - $19,780 - to buy AV equipment for music events.

The Burrum Heads Bowls Club has been awarded $8830 to buy a ride-on mower and PA system and the Mary River Swim Club will receive $8000 towards IT and sports equipment.

The Maryborough Softball Association will receive $5400 to buy a storage container.

Member for Maryborough Anne Maddern said the four groups illustrated the variety of valuable work not-for-profit organisations contributed to the community.

"Our local area and residents benefit greatly from these organisations."

Millions of dollars in funding have been provided across Queensland through the Gambling Community Benefit Fund and Jupiter's Casino Community Benefit Fund.
