Comedy for adults only

ARE you a fan of hilarious stand up comedy?

Then it seems you are in luck. For the first time ever, organisers of the 2008 Coffs Harbour International Buskers and Comedy Festival is bringing in world-renowned comedians for two hilarious adult-only stand-up shows during the festival.

Audiences are in for a real treat on Tuesday, September 30, and Thursday, October 2, when two of New Zealand's funniest comics, Jeremy Elwood and Michele A'Court, take the stage at The Pier Hotel.

Internationally Jeremy Elwood has head- lined comedy clubs around the world including Canada, Australia, Singapore and the UK, and was named Best Male Comedian at the New Zealand Comedy Guild Awards in 2004 and 2005.

Comedian, actress, writer and blogger Michele A'Court has not only taken out the Best Female Comedian gong for the past five years running, but is also an established radio and television star.

The pair joined forces in 2002 and performed the 'If You Want Me, I'll Be in the Bar' show, which was consequently named the best show in New Zealand's Laugh! Festival and Best Festival Show at the New Zealand Comedy Guild awards. And with credentials like these, you know you're in for a night of hilarity.

Festival organiser John Logan said the shows are not to be missed.

“These shows are perfect for people who want to see something a little bit different and edgy to what you see on the street,” he said.

The shows will be strictly adults only, admission is free and the hat will be passed.
