Comedic twisting of Bard classic creates laughs

THE Bunker Cartoon Gallery is getting its Shakespeare on with an irreverent ride into the world of history’s greatest playwright.

Forget soppy Romeo and bloody Macbeth, Shakespeare: Show Us Ya Willy by the Warped Brained Knaves of Shakes- peare is 80% Shakespeare, 20% Monty Python and 100% improvised brilliance.

The Warped Brained Knaves of Shakespeare hail from Melbourne and are bringing the improvised bard to Coffs Harbour with no strings, and no safety nets. Just two fools using nothing but their noggins, sheer bravado and a great love of Willy’s words.

Comedy, tragedy or history, you choose then sit back as your suggestions are woven to into theworld of cutpurses, guttersnipes, lords and ladies in a rich tapestry of improvised theatre that would warm the winter of any discontent and make any wife of Windsor merry.

The Warped Brained Knaves of Shakespeare are Patrick Duffy (AKA The Gargoyle at the Coffs Harbour Buskers Festival) and Rik Brown, a multiple Australian Improvisation National Championship title holder, and regular crowd favourite at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

These two merry makers return to Coffs after their successful performance at last month’s Buskers Festival Adult comedy show.

So come all you bawdy, clay-pated flap dragons on December 5 at 8.30pm at the Bunker.

Pre-sale tickets are $29.90 to this 18+ event. For tickets and inquiries, call Bunker on 6651 7343 or JLE on 66528266.
