Come and try hockey day organised for Coffs Coast juniors

WITH the Olympics on the way and Australia a big gold medal contender in hockey, kids on the Coffs Coast are being welcomed into a great sport.

A come and try day for juniors has been organised for this Saturday at the hockey complex on Hogbin Drive.

“Now is the time to get into hockey as the interest rises the closer we get to the Games,” organiser Paul Donohue said.

“It’s a great way to get outside for some fun and fitness while sharpening those hand to eye coordination skills.’

Under-7’s through to 10’s have their session at 8.30am.

Under-13’s begin at 9.30am with Under-16’s starting at 11am.

“Sticks can be supplied with the junior competition hitting off on April 30,” Paul added.

“The senior competition is underway with spots available for any new players at all skill levels.”
