Coffs to host NBL pre-season games

BASKETBALL fans across the region should keep September 11 clear on their calendars with the news that Coffs Harbour is set to host a double header men’s and women’s National Basketball League pre-season game. The NBL Gold Coast Blaze and WNBL Logan Thunder have both confirmed their participation with the Sydney Flames and the Wollongong Hawks set to confirm their participation this week.

Wollongong’s 2010 NBL Coach of the Year Gordie McLeod has been a familiar face to Coffs Harbour for many years when he was in control of the West Sydney Razorbacks while Flames coach Karen Dalton has previously conducted player clinics in Coffs Harbour.

The Hawks were 2010 NBL runners-up and their presence on the Coffs Coast is expected to be a huge boost for our men’s game. The Flames finished the season in third place after losing their preliminary final to eventual WNBL winners Canberra Capitals.

Once final plans are confirmed and announced, tickets will be available for corporate boxes and individual seating.
