Coffs to host awards

ONCE again Coffs Harbour is hosting the North Coast Regional Training Awards.

These awards are conducted by the North Coast Vocational Education and Training Promotional Advisory Committee (NETPAC), and winners go on to represent the region at the NSW awards and then the national awards - as local Red Rooster employee Hannah Cubis did in 2008.

Hannah's training awards journey continues this year in July, when she will be joint master of ceremonies for the 2009 North Coast Training Awards at Coffs Harbour.

“The journeys in 2008 have changed my life,” Hannah said. “I have more confidence and a love of learning which has led me to undertake Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and to commence Certificate IV in Retail Services.”

The award categories for the 2009 NSW Training awards are:

  • Apprentice of the Year
  • Trainee of the Year
  • Vocational Student of the Year
  • Aboriginal and Torres Islander Student of the Year
  • Vocational School Student of the Year
  • School Based Apprentice of the Year
